Art and history of Tarzo

TARZO’S CHURCH

Period: The church is quite ancient. The present structure was built about at the end of the 16th century and was definitively shaped in 1742 according to Domenico Legati’s – an engineer from Venice- design. The bell tower dates back to 1540 and the façade to 1929.

Works: On the main altar there is a painting by Cesare Vecellio, on the ceiling a fresco by Sebastiano de Boni, on the choir walls two unfinished frescoes by G. De Min. The bell tower is rather original in its structure.
