Grosso borgo collinare in posizione soleggiata. La strada in lieve salita che congiunge il centro abitato alle frazioni di Montaner e Rugolo costituisce un itinerario molto suggestivo tra boschi e prati, con vista spettacolare sulla pianura sottostante.
Particolarmente interessante l'antica Chiesa parrocchiale di Rugolo dedicata a S. Giorgio, con pregevoli affreschi. Molto rinomata a Sarmede, nella prima decade di novembre, la "Mostra internazionale dell' illustrazione per l'infanzia" (Esposizione di dipinti e libri).

Sarmede is a large village lying in a sunny position among charming hills. The slightly upgrading road linking the main centre to the villages of Rugolo and Montaner is a charming itinerary through woods and meadows offering a gorgeous view over the underlying plain.
The ancient parish church of San Giorgio in Rugolo is particularly interesting because of some valuable frescoes.
The well known International Exhibition of Children Illustration takes place every year from November to mid-December. Paintings and books by artists coming from all over the world are displayed in the Town Hall; during the week-ends a charming market is held along the centre roads where buskers and puppeteers perform their shows; theatre courses for children, conferences and workshop on theatre are also organized on that time of the year.
